Vacationing and working

I am visiting friends in Pensacola and I am working at the same time. Yes I really am working. Somehow it is even easier for me to work from here, as there is company during the day. So I can't just let the things hang and wait till evening until I do it. I really have to work during the day, so that I can spent time with my friend when she comes from work.

Last Saturday we visited UWF, where I went almost nine years ago. You can see the pics from the previous post. The area is still mainly the same, but there are so many new buildings up now. It was so weird to walk around there. Luckily the school is out, so we could stroll in peace.

Sunday we visited a local Zoo. I had not been there earlier, so it was nice to see a new place as well. It was not a huge place, but we had still quite a bit to walk around. I will add pictures of that trip later, as soon as I have uploaded them to my computer.

Pictures of my old school! It has changed so much. There are a lot of new buildings in there.

Back to Pensacola!

Wohoo! Finally I am going back! I have wanted to visit my friends ever since I left there. Mainly I am visiting this one family but if other friends have time, then I will see them too. Haven't made any specific plans, just hope to spent some time with them. Nine years ago this time I was anxiously waiting for my Visa to arrive. I had one whole month ahead of me before I moved away from Mikkeli and drifted two weeks between relatives.

Then I spent two semesters in Florida and I started this blog. Yes this blog is that old! This blog will turn nine in few short months. I am still sending updates on my travels. This blog still does not have a clear content, just writing what comes to my mind. You could say this is more of a personal journal than a public blog, although this is indeed a public blog :))

I am so exited to finally be able to meet some old friends!

Crowdsourcing part III

As I mentioned earlier to me the kickstarter project (check out the previous posts about this subject) had not been very well thought out. Now I see that Mr. Moore's team has done research and found the Indiegogo site. They have transferred the project from the kickstrart to Indiegogo and new link to the project is here. Some other changes are also visible. Mr. Moore's team is taking advantage of longer period of time, smaller amount to collect and the flexible funding campaign. This means that the amount is much more reachable and if the amount is not reached the funds will still be delivered.

Not everyone has yet transferred their funds from the kickstarter to the Indiegogo site, but I guess people will wait until the first project will officially close. I do admit that I have not yet repledged, but I hope I will be able to do it next week. I am happy that the project changed sites, because now if they need more funding they can easily release a part two and actually get more funding. This is because the fans usually do not have that much saved, but can give a small amount on monthly bases. As I have not tried Indiegogo yet, I do not know if the money is reserved right away. If it is, then the longer period of time means, that repledging in next month is very good option.

This is just a small update on this matter and opportunity to share the link to the new site. Remember to transfer your pledge if you have made one!

School is out for the summer

I was able to return all my papers in time. Unfortunately the last paper that I returned was not readable fully for the teacher. He did report it to me, but unfortunately I did not hear about it in time. I have submitted the paper again in pdf format, but the teacher has gone for holiday already. I just hope that it will not affect my grade, as I am not expecting to get a good grade anyway from that course. The paper has been delivered and I do not need to do anything during the summer.

I got quite good grades from my other courses, so I am not that worried. The only course that I do not have a grade now is the RS, which is to me more important than the other courses. I had big trouble with it, because I had no idea what to write my thesis about. That was the subject of the RS this spring. We were expected to do plan for our thesis, which is really difficult when you have no idea what to write. I have chosen a topic, but I am not sure if I will be able to write it. Really annoying!

Now I have a bit more time during the day, than just an hour, to enjoy Canada. One more week here in St. Catharines as a cat sitter and then I go back to Toronto. I'll be home less than a week and then I will travel to Florida to meet some old friends! Yay! I can't wait it. I have been planning this trip for so long, that it feels unbelievable that it is actually happening. I should start planning the trip to Finland as well, but I have been way too busy to think about it.

Some good news. I boss informed me that my job should be safe, although he has plans to move to Thailand.
